A Working Lab - the future way of meeting, working and studying

A Working Lab is Akademiska Hus' national concept for coworking and flexible meeting places. It is our tool for developing environments close to campus where it is easy for students, researchers, business and other societal actors to meet in new, flexible forms.

A Working Lab is developed in collaboration with those who stay in our premises, with the building itself as a test bed. Here, companies, businesses and people with different backgrounds can rent space for the time they need and get access to services and physical environments based on their specific needs. Conferences and meetings, training and workshops are held here.

A Working Lab is a concept for developing together with our customers, and it is also the common name for our new meeting places and services that are being formed around the country. First out was A Working Lab – Johanneberg Science Park in Gothenburg, which opened in the autumn of 2019. There, our concept permeates a completely new house, but it can just as easily be implemented in our existing environments as part of a building.

In the spring of 2020, we opened A Working Lab Universum in the middle of Umeå campus and A Working Lab Innomedicum at Campus Solna.

In January 2022, A Working Lab took over the operation of the coworking environment THINGS at KTH Campus in Stockholm, and in February 2022, a node was opened in Solna for coworking with offices and labs in Flemingsberg.
