Frequently asked questions about A Working Lab?

• What does a membership at A Working Lab Innomedicum entail? What do you have access to?

  AWL Innomedicum offers both private lab rooms or lab benches in shared spaces with office facilities. All members have complimentary access to Wi-Fi, coffee, and printers. You also become a part of our community and can participate in the events organized at A Working Lab. Additionally, membership in KI Science Park is included. As a member of AWL Innomedicum, you also automatically gain access to all AWL environments.

• How does AWL differ from other coworking environments?

  Our environments function just like a regular office but also offer something extra, such as unexpected encounters and inspiration. All A Working Lab locations are situated on or near university campuses, making it easier for researchers, students, businesses, and society to come together. We encourage all members to take advantage of the opportunity for collaboration and the development of the shared workspace. Suggestions for activities and initiatives that inspire working together with others are welcomed.

• Do you offer larger conference rooms or meeting spaces?

  There are several meeting rooms suitable for both larger and smaller meetings or events. For example, there's an open lounge environment, a conference room with its own kitchenette, and a larger auditorium with seating for up to 70 people, as well as several smaller modern meeting rooms fully equipped for your meeting.

• Can I, as a member, access your other AWL environments around the country?

  As a member of AWL Innomedicum, you automatically gain access to all AWL environments in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Umeå.

• How do the labs work?

  AWL Innomedicum offers both private lab spaces and lab benches in shared facilities with nearby office spaces. The environments are equipped with fume hoods, lab benches, LAF benches, refrigerators, and freezers, among other equipment. In addition, all members share equipment in a so-called common lab. This lab offers a wide range of lab equipment, such as pipettes, incubators, centrifuges, REAL instruments, and PCR machines. All members have access to features like purified water systems, dishwashers, and hazardous waste management.

• What's happening in your AWL community?

  We organize numerous events in collaboration with our partners. You're welcome to attend everything from seminars, breakfast meetings, to after-work gatherings and lunchtime workouts. As a member, you automatically become a part of KI Science Park's network. You also become a part of A Working Lab's community, both locally and nationally.

• What is available in the area?

  Campus Solna is situated where Stockholm meets Solna through the large urban development project, Hagastaden. Upon completion, it will encompass over 6,000 residential units and 50,000 workplaces. Education, research, and business work closely together, forming a unique foundation for a world-class life science cluster. Additionally, you'll find several restaurants, food trucks, and delightful green areas, including a boules court right nearby.

• How do I travel to A Working Lab?

  Getting to and from Campus Solna by public transport is easy. The nearest bus stop is Karolinska Hospital Eugeniavägen, served by bus lines 3 and 6. The closest subway station is Odenplan, just a 10-minute walk away, and bus line 6 can also take you there.
